Good coffee and very good baked goods in a
particularly interesting building (the Armory).
The 13th Street Bakery also serves breakfast and
lunch.

This restaurant, located across
from the post office, sells New York-Style
pizza.

Blue Canyon
Grill has many great food options, but their
burgers are particularly exceptional!

D'Deli makes exceptionally good
sandwiches. The shop always smells
of fresh-baked bread, and their
sandwiches are generously filled.
They also run a satellite
operation on the Pioneer Museum's back
patio during the summer. Their
grilled mahi-mahi has won quite a
following. Eating
D'Deli's sandwiches (or their ice cream)
while watching Clear Creek is a
quintessential Golden experience. |

Maurice Couturier, the accomplished and renowned French Chef, and Owner
on Grappa, was a private chef to the late King Hussain of Jordan for many years and continued to refine his expertise in London. He is proud to introduce to you a friendly, exciting restaurant creating dishes with French flare.
Enjoy river and mountain views from
their patio. |

Higher Grounds, on 14th Street, has been very
successful for a number of years. They
offer live music on certain occasions and free
high speed wireless internet.

The Old Capitol Grill is so-named
because the territorial legislature
(before Colorado became a state) used to
meet in this building. The food is
good, and the decor is well worth
seeing--particularly all of the old
Golden photos hanging on their walls.
The view from the bar is wonderful, with
a good view of Castle Rock on South
Table Mountain. |

The Quizno's franchise is locally-owned.
Their sandwiches are toasted and tasty!

Starbucks, Quiznos, and Woody's
Starbucks is one of several places downtown
to get good coffee. This one is located in
a former movie theater. Rick Gardner has
put a really nice history of the building on the
Golden Landmarks Association's web site.

The Table Mountain Inn has a good
restaurant and bar. They
have a particularly extensive selection
of margaritas! Their bar menu
offers a nice range of appetizers, which
makes this a good place to go after the
theater, when most of the restaurants in
town are closed. They also put on
big buffets on holidays such as
Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, and
Christmas. Check their web
site to see their menus. |
This restaurant has been
operating for many years out of a charming old
house. Admire the beautiful woodwork while
you savor their good Italian food!
| Vintner's
Cellar makes its own wine, on the
premises. They carry well over a
dozen varieties, including small batch
craft wines. They offer tastes of
anything they have open, and host
wine-tasting parties with advanced
reservations. It's a great place to
stop for a glass of wine or to pick up a
bottle for a special dinner. |

This fairly recent addition to
downtown became an instant favorite. The
food is all made from scratch and is
delicious. In addition, the hardwood
floors, fireplace, aged brick walls, and
comfortable furniture makes this a nice place to
meet friends and just hang out. Their
menus are available on their web
site.
Woody's makes exceptional pizza. Their
pizza-and-salad-bar-buffet is a great place to
eat way too much. The chefs keep putting
out different varieties of pizza, including a
California pizza that includes artichokes.
Patrons can return to the pizza bar as often as
they like to see what new options have become
available.
